Bard Gets Better & Open For All—And Hallucinates Over It

Google rolls out 3 updates in 15 days to enrich and open their AI experiment for all to use. But it has no idea what happened.

Bard is the large language model (LLM) from Google AI that has everyone a-buzz this month. Trained on a truly massive dataset of text and code, the experiment opened in March. I got to be an early user of the experiment and have been relying on it for nearly two months now.

The skinny: I love it. I even did a bake off declaring that Bard was better than ChatGPT, and Microsoft—although Microsoft is so close it could be debated.

Triggered by a product release email sent from the Google mothership herself today, I decided to investigate the new features.

First, let’s see what the email said.
